Happy Pride Month! ๐ŸŒˆโœจโœจโœจ

This month is dedicated to celebrating and commemorating the LGBTQAI+ community. As we enter this month, please support our queer-owned businesses and safe havens in The Grove, not only this month but all year round!

A Little About The Grove: โค๏ธ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

Back in the 1980s, The Grove community became the safe space it is today, thanks to a well-respected community member known as Grandma (Tim Craddock). Grandma developed a haven for the community to gather safely and support one another, known as Grandma's Rainbow End ๐ŸŒˆ. Grandma also ran a couple of landmark GLBT bars, now known as Rehab STL, on Sarah Ave.

Later, Jann Brigulio and her partner opened Attitudes, one of the oldest gay clubs in the country still under its original ownership in 1988. In 1990, Nancy Nocak opened Freddie's, another location in The Grove, for LGBTQAI individuals to build community, have fun, and express themselves!

These community members and many others were instrumental in activating The Grove and played a core role in developing Manchester Avenue into what it is today. Today, we honor them and their passion for creating spaces that make The Grove a welcoming place for all. Love Always Wins.

Throughout this month, we will be spotlighting all of our LGBTQAI-owned bars and spaces that you should visit this month and all year round! ๐ŸŒˆ๐ŸŒˆ
